Sketches done mostly at work.

So i’m doing a series of nudes. Here’s the first one. More on the way

Told you I was doing shit. In celebration of the release of The Dark Knight on DVD, I give you ball point pen Joker.

Yeah yeah, I know. It’s been like forever. Well I have a good excuse this time. Honest. No really… I do.
Golly!, the new book by Phil Hester and Brook Turner that I’m colouring will be coming out in August. So the rush is on to get issue two and the following issues prepped coloured and ready to go to print. Big rush. So I haven’t been doing shit else. And that’s life. For those interested, here’s a link to an article about the first issue:

So yeah, that’s what I’ve been up to. But I was able to squeeze in something for fun. Another link:

I met this fine man, Simone Guglielmini, on Penciljack and was impressed with his work. His blog is in Italian, so good luck. Anyway, his work has a bit of a Tim Sale/Sean Phillips quality to it. He posted a cover on Penciljack that he had drawn and inked and I asked him if I could slap some colours down on it. He said sure and off I went. This post is called “departures” for two reasons. One, this little picture is a departure from Golly! for a minute just to cleanse the pallet. And two because this is very very different then my normal colouring style. His art reminded me of Long Halloween and so I wanted the colours to reflect that as well. And so here it is….
Very different from my usual fare, but I like it. I thought it turned out nice. So, let me know what you think.
Wow, it’s been awhile.
So realism is a bitch. This is why I tend to stay away from this area. But here’s a pencil drawing I’m working on. Sorry for the crappy scan, it’s a big pic and hard to scan. It’s from the same photo as used in the one from my sketch book, but this one is aimed more at accuracy and done in pencil instead of pen.
So Saturday, May 3rd, was Free Comic Book Day. I participate every year at the local comic shop and draw for the people. This year was madness. For one, it was 10 hours instead of the normal 8 (yes 2 hours makes a difference). So 10 hours and 35 drawings later (and that’s with 10 other artists drawing as well. It was packed to the gills), something really cool happened. I drank a $20 glass of really really nice scotch and ate a steak dinner with Boba Fett. Yeah, the Fett. Wet your pants Star Wars fags.
Now, normally I could give a shit. It’s the guy who wore a suit in a movie. Whoopity doo. But Jeremy Bulloch (aka and forever here after referred to as Boba Fett) was fucking hi-larious. Oh the stories he told. And not about Star Wars either. Just life stories. Like flying in to Disney World to do some Star Wars promos and getting dicked around at the airport customs office. Funny funny shit. And the coolest thing about him, is that he realizes he was just a dude in a suit. He doesn’t think he’s special or all that. He wore a suit in a movie and for what ever reason he has a rabid fan base. He gets it. And that’s what makes Fett cool.
So needless to say, don’t expect any updates (not that there have been many anyway) for awhile. My hand is all cramped up and I’m kinda sick of drawing for a bit.
Well, here’s a couple of unfinished paintings. Let’s be honest, i’ll probably never finish these, so here they are anyway. Most of them involved boobies and general nekkedness, so don’t be click’n if you are at work. Unless you have my job.
